RUSSELLsaid, he would beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether, considering the recent decision of the House to confer the franchise on the officers of the Customs, Inland Revenue, and Post Office, he is not of opinion that Members of Parliament should be precluded from making application in favour of persons seeking employment in those Departments?
§ MR. GATHORNE HARDY, in reply, said, there was no intention of legislating with the view of precluding Members of Parliament from making application in favour of persons seeking employment in Government Offices, because of the recent Act removing their disabilities.
