HC Deb 17 February 1868 vol 190 c799
MR. O'BEIRNE

said, he wished to ask the Chief Secretary for Ireland, Whether he intends to introduce any measure for the improvement of the Law of Landlord and Tenant in Ireland during the present Session; and, if he does, whether he will now fix a day for that purpose?

THE EARL OF MAYO

I understand, Sir, that a discussion on the state of Ireland is likely to come on to-morrow week on a Motion of the hon. Gentleman the Member for Cork (Mr. Maguire), and I think it will be more satisfactory if I take the opportunity then to state to the House the intentions of the Government with regard to this question of Landlord and Tenant.
