§ MR. J. STUART MILLsaid, he would beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether it is his intention to propose any measure, either separately or as a provision, in the Election Petitions and Corrupt Practices at Elections Bill, for the prevention of bribery at Municipal Elections?
§ MR. DISRAELISir, the subject to which the Question of the hon. Member relates is one of very great importance, but I am not prepared to deal with it in the manner he suggests. I shall make every possible effort to carry the Bill which refers to Parliamentary Elections before the dissolution. I think that that is a matter of the greatest moment; but I do not contemplate mixing it up with the subject referred to by the hon. Member.
