said, he wished to ask the Vice President of the Privy Council, If any decision has been arrived at in reference to a Memorial recently presented to the Council, praying that Spanish and Portuguese Cattle imported into Liverpool may be transferred from thence alive to the Cattle Market at Salford for immediate slaughter there?

LORD ROBERT MONTAGU

replied, that the Council, after a consideration of the question, had come to the conclusion that it would not be advisable to remove the existing restrictions regulating the importation of foreign cattle.
