§ SIR BENJAMIN GUINNESSsaid, he would beg to ask the Secretary of State for War, If he will furnish to the House a Return of the names of the Civil Officers of the Royal Engineers who have died on foreign service during the past ten years; and, why their widows have not had pensions allotted to them, as is the case with 876 the widows of the other officers of the Royal Engineers, and whether the Government purpose to make them such provision in future?
§ SIR JOHN PAKINGTON, in reply, said, he should be happy to give a list of the names asked for. With respect to the second Question of the hon. Baronet, his answer was that those officers referred to were under the Superannuation Act, and therefore were not entitled to the advantages alluded to.
