MR. GLADSTONESir, I wish to put a Question to the right hon. Gentleman the Chancellor of the Exchequer, which, if he should not find it convenient to answer now, I shall repeat on Monday. I wish to know, first, Whether it is the intention of Her Majesty's Government to make any alteration in the arrangements or provisions of the Bill for amending the Representation of the People before inviting the House to discuss its Clauses in Committee; and secondly, whether he is willing to lay upon the table of the House the Reports or other Documents from which he quoted on Tuesday the opinions of the late and present Chairmen of the Board of Inland Revenue, with respect to the proposed taxing Franchise?
