HC Deb 26 March 1867 vol 186 cc563-4
MR. ALDERMAN LAWRENCE

said, he would beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, If he intends to proceed, on Thursday next, with the Metropolitan Improvements Bill, which has been brought in by the hon. Member for the Tower Hamlets and the hon. Member for Bath?

LORD JOHN MANNERS

said, in reply, that in the present state of the public business it would not be possible to take that Bill or any other measure relating to the taxation of the metropolis, on Thursday next; and he proposed, with the concurrence of the hon. Member for the Tower Hamlets, to postpone the further discussion of the Bill in question until after the Easter recess.
