§ SIR JOHN PAKINGTONsaid, in reply, that he was not aware that the Government had received any application for compensation, or that there was any ground for giving compensation to those officers. A new regulation had recently been made with regard to the promotion of medical officers, and he had no reason to think that regulation was in any way unsatisfactory.
