HC Deb 04 July 1867 vol 188 c983
MR. MONSELL

said, he would beg to ask the Chief Secretary for Ireland, When he will be able to state the names of the Commissioners to inquire into the revenues of the Established Church in Ireland, and the instructions intended to be issued for the guidance of such Commissioners?

LORD NAAS

said, his right hon. Friend would recollect that a Motion had been made the other day in the House of Lords relative to the appointment of this Commission. The subject was one that required the gravest consideration, and some time must necessarily elapse before the opinion of Government could be expressed upon the matter. No unnecessary delay would, however, take place; and as soon as any decision was arrived at Government would lay the information upon the table of the House.

MR. MONSELL

Will the noble Lord lay the names of the Commissioners before us before the expiration of the present Session?

LORD NAAS

It is our earnest desire to do so if we possibly can.
