§ MR. W. E. FORSTERsaid, he wished to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, Whether it is the intention of Her Majesty's Government to bring in a Bill for placing the Telegraph Lines in the Kingdom under the superintendence of the State?
§ MR. HUNTsaid, in reply, that the question had been under the consideration of Her Majesty's Government; but it was obvious that a question of this magnitude required mature consideration, and he was not in a position at present to say that the Government had come to any determination on the subject.
