§ SIR STAFFORD NORTHCOTEsaid, he was unable to state on what principle railway companies made up these returns. He believed that all the companies used the same form. And as they wished to know the number of miles proper travelled, exclusive of shunting and unprofitable travelling, he would next year alter the questions put to the railway companies, so as to meet the hon. Gentleman's wishes.
