THE EARL OF MAYOsaid, in reply, that though the Ecclesiastical Commissioners were not under the control of the Irish Government, he had made inquiries on the subject referred to, and was informed by the Commissioners that a Minute was adopted on the 5th of April, 1866, to the following effeot:— 646
The Commissioners having read a paper of observations upon a letter recently published in The Times newspaper respecting the revenues of the Irish Church, by the Rev. William Maziere Brady, D.D., the same was approved, and ordered to be printed for private circulation.This was all the information he had upon the subject. With regard to the document referred to, if the hon. Gentleman would move for it, he would ascertain from the Ecclesiastical Commissioners whether they would object to its being laid on the table.
