§ MR. LAYARDSir, the Chilean Minister has not asked for his passport; he has delivered letters of recall, but no reasons are assigned for that recall. From despatches received only yesterday from Chile, there is no reason to fear that there will be any interruption of the friendly relations between the two countries.
