§ MR. H. B. SHERIDANsaid, he would beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether it is the intention of Her Majesty's Government to bring in any Bill during the present Session of Parliament to amend the Law relating to Weights and Measures so far as the same refers to the use of local and customary measures and the present mode of imposing and applying the penalties and costs under the Act 5 & 6 Will. IV. c. 63?
§ MR. CHILDERSsaid, in reply, that it was the intention of Her Majesty's Government to introduce a Bill with respect to weights and measures which would deal with the standard and the proper modes of verifying the copies of the standard; but there was no intention to bring in a Bill with respect to the special points to which the hon. Gentleman has alluded.
