Resolution reported;
That it is expedient to empower the Poor Law Board, from time to time, to assess on the several Unions in England such sum as to them shall seem requisite, not exceeding in any year a rate of Three Pence in the pound on the net annual value of the rateable property in all the Unions, in order to defray expenses incurred by local authorities in pursuance of 'The Cattle Diseases Prevention Act, 1866,' in aid of a Rate to be levied in the infected counties by the local authorities:—That the said sum shall be paid into the Bank of England to the credit of the Cash Account of the Paymaster General, and shall be applied towards defraying the expenses aforesaid.
