COLONEL HERBERT

said, he would beg to ask the Secretary of State for War, Whether any further expenses have been incurred in consequence of the Court Martial on Lieutenant Colonel Crawley being held in England than the sum of £18,378 17s. 6d., reported to Parliament in Paper 98, dated 28th February, 1864; if so, whether he will state the amount; and whether all claims upon the part of the Indian Government or individuals have been settled?

MR. HEADLAM

said, a further sum of £1,131 12s. 4d. had been expended upon the matter in addition to the sum mentioned by the hon. and gallant Gentleman.

MAJOR DICKSON

said, he wished to know, whether any intention exists to compensate Colonel Crawley for being brought from India to be tried?

MR. HEADLAM

said, he could not answer that question.
