HC Deb 23 July 1866 vol 184 c1283
MR. DYCE NICOL

said, he wished to ask the First Commissioner of Works, Whether his attention has been directed to the present state of the roads in the Public Parks; and whether the repairs cannot be made in a less inconvenient manner?

LORD JOHN MANNERS

My attention, Sir, has been called to the state of the roads in the Public Parks, and I find that they are being repaired in the same manner they always have been repaired before. I am, however, now making inquiries into the system in force in Paris, of levelling the granite by means of a steam roller, with the view of seeing whether it can be adopted in the Royal Parks.
