MR. CAVE

proposed an Amendment extending the provisions of the measure to private oyster beds already formed, which was agreed to.

Clause 23.

MR. CAVE

said, it had been represented to the Board of Trade that thirty years was not a period sufficiently long for the duration of rights of fisheries to induce persons to invest capital in the formation of oyster beds. He therefore proposed that sixty years be the maximum term.
