said, he would beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether it is the intention of the Government that those portions of the Cattle Diseases Act which authorizes the slaughter of all cattle suffering from the plague shall be continued in force after the 15th of April?

SIR GEORGE GREY

said, in reply, that the temporary provisions—those affecting the slaughter of cattle—which were to expire on the 15th of April, would continue in operation till the 10th of May.

The provisions for compensation as well as the slaughter of cattle?
