§ MR. DARBY GRIFFITHsaid, he wished to ask Mr. Attorney General, Whether, during the Recess, the Government will take the present state of the Law of Simony into consideration, with a view to its simplification and improvement?
THE ATTORNEY GENERALreplied that the Commissioners having recommended that the present state of the law relating to simony should be considered, it was undoubtedly the duty of the Government to take the subject into consideration, though he confessed he apprehended the 983 alteration of the law would be a matter of some difficulty.
