THE LORD ADVOCATEmoved, for leave to bring in a Bill to alter and amend the system of registration of writs relative to land in Scotland. The hon. and learned Lord said the Bill was similar to one he had introduced last year, and its object was to substitute one general register for the double registration now required. He understood that an hon. Friend intended to propose a measure whereby the county registers would be the sole registers. That would fairly raise the question, and upon it the point at issue could be discussed.
§ MR. DUNLOPsaid, he should take an early opportunity of asking leave to bring in a Bill to make the county register the sole register of writs relating to land.
§ Motion agreed to.
§ Bill to alter and amend the system of the Registration of Writs, relative to Land in Scotland, ordered to be brought in by The LORD ADVOCATE, Sir GEORGE GREY, and Sir WILLIAM DUNBAR.
§ Bill presented and read 1°. [Bill 41.]
§ House adjourned at half after Eight o'clock.
