§ MR. PEACOCKEasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies, Whether Judge Coursol in Canada has been dismissed in consequence of any communication from the Government at Home; and, if so, whether such communication was made at the instance of the Government at Washington?
§ MR. CARDWELLI have not received any report that Judge Coursol has been dismissed. Whatever steps may have been taken by the Governor General of Canada have been taken by him upon the advice of his Ministers, and not in consequence of any communication made to him by the Home Government.
