HC Deb 31 May 1864 vol 175 cc912-3
MR. BAXTER

said, he would beg to ask the hon. Member for Sunderland, If he intends to bring on his Motion with reference to the Confederate States of America on Friday?

MR. LINDSAY

Considering the terrible struggle, Sir, now going on in America, and considering what is likely to be the result of that struggle, I consider that I shall best consult the interests of peace if I postpone the Motion from Friday, the 3rd, to Friday, the 17th of June.
