HC Deb 05 May 1864 vol 175 cc19-20
MR. GOSCHEN

said, he wished to ask the President of the Poor Law Board, Whether the Select Committee on Poor Relief will make a Report this Session; and, if so, whether in time for legislation m the subject; and if it is the intention of Her Majesty's Government to bring forward any measure founded thereupon during the present Session?

MR. C. P. VILLIERS,

in reply, said, he was of opinion that the Select Committee on Poor Relief would make their Report very shortly, and therefore in time for legislation on the subject. With respect to what measure the Government would bring forward founded on that Report, he would, if his hon. Friend would allow him, prefer to give an-answer to that Question when the Government had received that Report.
