MR. LONGFIELD

brought up the Report of the Select Committee.

House informed, that the Committee had determined—

  1. 1. That William Walter Cargill, esquire, is duly elected a Burgess to serve in this present Parliament for the Borough of Berwiok-upon-Tweed.
  2. 1902
  3. 2. That no case of bribery was proved.
  4. 3. That it was not proved that corrupt practices prevailed at the said Election.
  5. 4. That there was no evidence laid before the Committee from which they had reason to believe that corrupt practices extensively prevailed at the said Election.
  6. 5. That the Petition of Alexander Mitchell was not frivolous and vexatious.

And the said Determination was ordered to be entered in the Journals of this House.
