HC Deb 04 March 1864 vol 173 c1455
SIR MICHAEL STEWART

said, he wished to ask the Under Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether, considering the short time that has been afforded for the consideration of the "Cattle Diseases Prevention," and "Cattle, &c, Importation" Bills, and the importance of the interests concerned, he will postpone until after Easter, the Second Reading of these Bills?

MR. H. A. BRUCE

said, the Bills might be more satisfactorily discussed in Committee than on the second reading, and therefore, after Easter, it was his intention to refer the Bills to a Select Committee.
