MR. CARD WELLSir. we have not received so much news as has appeared in the newspapers. Through our Consul at Alexandria we received the earlier information contained in the newspapers, which was favourable to the success of our arms. The second part, which is of a mixed character, and apparently involving the discomfiture of our arms more or less, has not been received through any official source.
