HC Deb 26 February 1864 vol 173 c1217
MR. HALIBURTON

said, he had been requested by the hon. Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to postpone a question of which he had given notice, as to the present state of the negotiations with the United States on the subject of their forcible possession of the Island of San Juan, on the coast of Vancouver. He had no objection to assent to the postponement, but it must not be supposed that he could accede to postponing it indefinitely.
