MR. MONTAGUE SMITH

said, he wished to ask the First Commissioner of Works, Whether it is the intention of the Government to introduce in the present Session any measure for building new Courts of Justice in the Metropolis, or for improving the state of the existing Courts?

MR. COWPER

said, in reply, that it was the intention of the Government to introduce a Bill for the concentration of the Courts of Law and Equity on a site to be purchased between Carey Street and the Strand, in accordance with the recommendation of the Royal Commission which had reported on the subject.
