ROGERSsaid, he would beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies, Whether, in case of the discovery of a Goldfield in Tasmania, the Grant Licences for procuring Gold will be regulated in the same way as has heretofore been done in the other Australian Colonies; and whether there is any objection to printing the Report of Mr. Gould, the Government Geologist, which is referred to in the last Report of the Governor of Tasmania, of August 21, 1862, p. 77?
§ MR. CARDWELLreplied that there would be no objection to lay the Report on the table. With regard to the other Question, that would depend on the view the Legislature of Tasmania might take on the matter and the regulations they might make.
