HC Deb 14 April 1864 vol 174 c968
MR. STANLEY

said, he wished to ask the President of the Board of Trade, What steps are being taken to mark more distinctly the Platter Rocks in the Refuge Harbour of Holyhead?

MR. MILNER GIBSON

said, in reply, that buoys were placed there to mark distinctly the situation of those rocks, and he was not aware that anything more was necessary. It had been suggested that some kind of Light should be placed upon them, but at present no plan for that purpose was matured. All that existed there were the ordinary buoys for marking shoals.

MR. STANLEY

said, he wished to know if there had not been some plans submitted to the Board of Trade by which something better than buoys could be placed on the rocks?

MR. MILNER GIBSON

believed there had been plans submitted, but nothing had as yet been decided upon.
