§ MR. MAGUIRE, in moving that the House should go into Committee pro formâ on this Bill, in order to have Amendments 2078 printed, intimated that he should withdraw the measure at a subsequent stage, in consequence of the course which he understood the Government meant to take on that subject.
THE SOLICITOR GENERALexplained, that it was a measure which it was impossible to carry without Government assistance, and they were not yet in a position to take it up; but that an understanding had been made with the hon. Member that a Bill would be introduced next Session by the Government which would carry out the views of the hon. Member.
