§ MR. DUNLOPsaid, he would beg to ask the Lord Advocate, Whether it is the intention of the Government to issue a Commission of Inquiry into the state of Education in Scotland; and whether, if so, the putting of the Revised Code in operation in that part of the United Kingdom will be postponed till the result of such inquiry be reported?
THE LORD ADVOCATEreplied, that he had made a communication to the Government with a view to the issuing of a Commission to inquire into this subject; but he was not able, to hold out any prospect of such a Commission being issued. If such a Commission were to be appointed, he could not hold out the anticipation that the Revised Code would not be applied to Scotland.
