MR. LYGONsaid, he wished to ask for some explanation of the circumstances of the charity. He took exception to the clauses in the Bill which provided for the endowment of a chapel with £500 per annum, the assignment of an ecclesiastical district, the sale of the advowson for the benefit of the charity, and the collection of pew rents.
§ MR. LOWEexplained that the Bill was a compromise of a local controversy, and all parties were anxious that it should pass.
