MR. LIDDELL

said, he wished to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Whether any Correspondence has taken place in addition to that already published between Her Majesty's Government and Mr. Lay, or between the Government and Merchants connected with the China Trade, on the subject of the complaints made in August 1861, by the Chambers of Commerce of Hong-Kong and Shanghai; and, if so, whether there is any objection to lay copies of such Correspondence upon the table of the House?

, in reply, said, he was not aware that there was any correspondence in addition to what had been published, between the Government and Mr. Lay, or between the Government and merchants connected with the China trade, on the subject of the complaints made by the Chambers of Commerce of Hong-Kong and Shanghai in 1861.
