§ SIR GEORGE GREYsaid, that he did intend to bring in a measure for that purpose, but it would not be its object to put an end to the present system, as suggested by the Committee of last year; the object would be rather to strengthen and enlarge the present system, so as to render it commensurate with the wants of the metropolis. He could not say when he should be able to bring in the Bill, as he was now in communication with the different bodies whose concurrence would be necessary to the success of the scheme.
