§ MR. A. F. EGERTONsaid, he rose to give notice that on the Motion for going into Committee of Supply to-morrow he would ask the President of the Poor Law Board certain questions respecting the working of the Poor Law in the cotton-manufacturing districts. He would also ask the Secretary of State for India whether any reductions were to be made in the Indian tariff; and if so, when they would come into operation. He might, perhaps, be allowed to state for the information of the House, that he had seen the hon. Member for North Lancashire (Colonel Wilson Patten) that morning, who had a Notice on the Paper for that night similar to the one he had himself just given, and that he found his hon. Friend suffering from a severe accident, which would prevent his bringing forward the subject that evening.
