HC Deb 02 May 1862 vol 166 c1189

Order for Second Reading read.

SIR MORTON PETO

said, he wished to move the second reading of the Burials Bill. It had been made to harmonize with the Irish Act.

SIR GEORGE GREY

said, that the Bill had been considerably modified, and several of the objectionable clauses in that introduced last year removed. He did not, therefore, object to the second reading, on the understanding, however, that the provisions of the Bill should be fully considered in Select Committee.

SIR WILLIAM HEATHCOTE

said, he concurred in the suggestion of the right hon. Baronet, that the Bill should be referred to a Select Committee.

MR. COLLINS

said, he hoped that sufficient notice would be given of the names of the Members who were to form the Committee on the Bill.

Bill read 2° and committed to a Select Committee.
