§ COLONEL FRENCHput a question which for some time had stood in his name relating to claims on the State of Oude.
MR. T. G. BARINGsaid, that the papers respecting a portion of the claims were already on the table of the House, and these included the original letter and a Report upon the claims of the representatives of Colonel Frith, and others. The answer of the Secretary of State for India in Council was also laid upon the table; and he could add nothing to the information which was already in the hands of Members. There had also been laid on the table the Report of a Commission with respect to other claims upon the Government of Oude, and the Report was under the consideration of the Secretary of State for India in Council. No answer had yet been sent out to the Report, which had only been lately received.
