HC Deb 11 April 1862 vol 166 c858
MR. SMOLLETT

said, he would beg to ask the Secretary of State for India Whether he has received a copy of an Act, intituled "The Indian Contracts Bill," now pending before the Legislative Council of the Governor General of India; and whether he is prepared to sanction this measure in its present shape if passed by that body?

SIR CHARLES WOOD

said, he had received a copy of the Bill in question, bat it, had not yet been considered by the Indian Council, and he was therefore unable to state at present whether it would be sanctioned or not.
