HC Deb 07 March 1861 vol 161 c1536
MR. INGHAM

said, he rose to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty, If it is the intention of the Board to take early measures, either by their own authority or with the aid of Parliament, for giving effect to the recommendations of the Commissioners appointed to inquire into and report on the state of Greenwich Hospital?

LORD CLARENCE PAGET

said, the Admiralty had already taken measures to carry out a considerable number of the recommendations of the Royal Commission. They had already amalgamated the schools, reformed them, and placed them upon a better footing. They were also going to give additional accommodation for the purpose of those schools. With regard to Greenwich Hospital itself, the noble Duke at the head of the Admiralty in a few days would lay on the Table a Bill for the improved government of the hospital.
