§ SIR GEORGE FORSTERsaid, he wish- 1172 ed to know, What steps would be taken by Her Majesty's Government to prevent a repetition of the degrading exhibition of M. Blondin on Saturday last, so far, at all events, as related to the exposure of a child to imminent danger?
SIR GEORGE LEWISSir, my attention has been directed to the circumstance to which the hon. Baronet has referred; and I am also aware that it is proposed to repeat the exhibition at the Crystal Palace to-morrow. I have in consequence caused a letter of warning to be written to the Directors of the Crystal Palace, by which, I trust, that the exposure to danger of a child of tender years may be prevented. I have a sanguine hope that the letter which has been written will be efficacious to that extent.
