§ MR. VANSITTARTsaid, he would beg to ask the right hon. Baronet the Secretary of State for India, Whether he is going to proceed with the East India Loan that evening? An important statement had been made by Mr. Laing on the 27th of April, a report of which had arrived only that day, and it was desirable that Members should have time to peruse it.
§ SIR CHARLES WOODsaid, he intended to proceed with the measure that night. When he had made his statement the hon. Member would see that, whatever Mr. Laing had said, it was quite necessary that the measure should not be delayed.
