§ MR. MARSHsaid, he would beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies, Whether it is the intention of the Government to lay upon the Table of the House the Despatches of Sir George Bowen, Governor of Queensland, Australia?
§ MR. CHICHESTER FORTESCUEsaid that his hon. Friend must be aware that it was not usual to communicate the ordinary despatches of Colonial Governors to Parliament; but the progress of the Colony of Queensland had been so interesting, and so creditable to the colonists, that his noble Friend at the head of the Colonial Office had no objection to produce these papers.
