§ SIR JOHN SHELLEYsaid, he would beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether it is the intention of the Government to introduce any measures for further facilitating the Drainage of Lands by the Improvement of Outfalls and Arterial Channels?
SIR GEORGE LEWISsaid, he had had his attention directed to the subject during the recess. He believed it was one which excited a great deal of interest. He had a measure nearly prepared with respect to it; and he hoped to be able to lay that measure soon before the House, but he could not yet name a day for its introduction.
