§ MR. BOWYERsaid, he would beg to ask the Secretary of State for War, Whether a regulation has recently been made that Officers of Volunteers are not to have their military rank at Court, and if so, whether Her Majesty's Government will reconsider the subject, and allow to such Officers their military rank at Court?
§ MR. SIDNEY HERBERTsaid, he had stated the other night, in answer to a similar question from his hon. and gallant Friend (Sir De Lacy Evans) that no such order had been promulgated. He had since seen a report of a meeting at Liverpool, at which it was stated as a great grievance that officers of volunteer corps were not allowed to go to Court in their uniform. He could give an unqualified contradiction to that statement. Every one present at the last levee must have noticed a considerable number of volunteer officers present in their uniform.
