HC Deb 02 May 1860 vol 158 c536

Order for Second Reading read.

MR. PAULL,

in moving the second reading of this Bill, said, that its object was to amend the existing law by bringing within its operation offences which happened through what appeared to be a mere inadvertence to be omitted from its provisions. The defect had been discovered in the course of a recent trial in Wales, for a malicious injury to the machinery of a mine, and the present measure was proposed in accordance with the views of the Judge who had presided at that trial.

MR. CLIVE

said, there was no objection to the Bill on the part of the Government.

Bill read 2°, and committed for Wednesday next.
