§ SIR STAFFORD NORTHCOTEsaid, he wished to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what course he proposes to take with regard to the introduction of a Bill for authorizing the Census 1151 next year, and whether he sees any objection to the appointment of a Select Committee to consider the best mode of procuring such information in connection with the Census as may be thought desirable?
§ SIR GEORGE GREYsaid, a Bill in reference to the taking of the census was in course of preparation, and would in due time be laid on the table. The hon. Member, after seeing the Bill, would have an opportunity to move, if he thought it desirable to do so, for an inquiry before a Select Committee.
