§ MR. SPOONERsaid, he wished to ask when the Government propose to adjourn 835 for the Easter Recess, and when they mean to resume business again?
§ VISCOUNT PALMERSTONNo doubt, Sir, hon. Members, having been called together this Session rather earlier than usual, will be glad to have as long a Recess at Easter as can be conveniently given. But I am obliged to say that the period for adjournment must entirely depend on the progress of the public business now before us, some of which is of a very urgent nature, and certain Bills must be passed before Easter. Therefore we are not able at present to say on what day we shall recommend the House to adjourn.
