§ MR. HUNTsaid, he wished to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether there will be any objection on the part of the Government to introduce into the House, on an early day, the Bill which he stated on the 1st instant, to be already prepared, providing for a uniform system of Valuation throughout England.
SIR GEORGE LEWISsaid, he had already introduced several Bills, which had been postponed from day to day owing to the pressure of more important business. There was now in print a Bill on the subject to which the hon. Gentleman alluded, which there would be no difficulty in at once introducing; but he was not aware that it was such as to enable the hon. Gentleman to form a judgment on the point involved in his Question, inasmuch as it would not provide immediately such a valuation as to lay at once the foundation of a Parliamentary Franchise.
